Work Packages

We can identify different work-packages that shall contribute to fulfil all the above development phases:

  • WP1: Management, dissemination and standardization. This WP will concentrate not only the global project management and coordination, but also the results dissemination and standardization activities


  • WP2: TDK development methodology. This is one of the core WPs devoted to fix the core TDK development & characterization methodology in a close cooperation with WP3, WP4 and WP5 and WP6, who will apply such methodology for specific EDA tools and application domain developments.


  • WP3: Baseline technology development and characterization. This WP will start from early technology specification (printer, substrate and inks) to perform its basic development and characterization as a generic technology or taking into account the target application domain. Those activities shall be done accordingly to WP2 and the result shall be all the needed information to address the physical level design once the related physical design kit has been integrated within a CAD tool.


  • WP4: Device and cell libraries. Based on the physical design kit we can begin with basic building blocks development and later on component development. Again this has to follow the methodology from WP2 and the target libraries shall be defined taking into account the target application. Thus, different libraries could be developed and combined to address different applications.


  • WP5: EDA flow and TDK integration. All the results from combined activities on WP2, WP3 and WP4 shall be collected in a generic EDA data base using as much as possible standard formats. From such EDA data base different design kits could be developed and then integrated within the selected CAD tools (commercial and open-source) for its usage for application developments.


  • WP6: Circuit Integration using Technology and Design Kit. This WP will identify the target application domain as well as potential demonstrator circuits. These circuits will help us to analyze the powerfulness of TDK as pa part of a complex design methodology and its scalability. Another important factor that will be analyzed is the modelling of yield and derating factors in FOLAE processes due to ambient conditions and ageing.

As mentioned before the WP2 dealing with TDK development methodology will be the central WP to link and assure the right and complete information flow between all the other WPs. This WP2 shall be present in both flows:
  • Top-down specifications from application domain to fix the technology and cell library needs.
  • Bottom-up development to go from baseline technology up to EDA libraries and design flow to address the final demonstrators’ realization.
Just the WP1 devoted to management, standardization and dissemination activities will take care of such activities at the whole project level.
